Who Were the Ancient Architects?
Whoever these ancient architects were, it seems that they had access to technology far superior to
what we have today – at least in the arena of architecture and the building of Megalithic Marvels.
What I am going to propose are a couple of theories based on biblical, extra-biblical
and historical writings. The two segments I will be discussing are:
- The ancient architects that created structures 2,000 to 6,000 years ago.
- The ancient architects that created structures in pre-history.
At the end of this article, I’ll give you some reference material so you can get a start doing the in-depth research yourself. What I am sharing with you in this article is a synthesis of what I have learned over several years of study.
The Pre-Flood Ancient Architects
The first group of ancient architects I will discuss are those that created megalithic structures
some 2,000 to 6,000 years ago. I believe these are the builders that, for the most part, were destroyed by the flood of Noah’s day. The genealogies recorded in Genesis trace the lineage of man from Adam to Noah to Abraham showing the age at which they died. According to my calculations of this account, God sent a global flood some 1,656 years after Adam.
The fall of the angels known as the “Watchers,” is documented by passages in Genesis 6 and in the
apocryphal book of Enoch. In passages of Enoch and other apocryphal writings, the Watcher
angels are said to have traded technology for permission to have access to human women. The
intercourse (sex and/or DNA manipulation) resulted in the Nephilim’s arrival upon the Earth.
Passages in Jude 1:4-10; 1 Peter 3:18-22; 2 Peter 2:4-14 seem to allude to some angels being imprisoned due to sexual sin.
The Nephilim are mentioned in Genesis 6 of the Bible. Nephilim are the result of the fallen angel’s (the Watchers) attempt to create man in their own image and corrupt the lineage (and image) established by God that would bring about Christ. This is also one of the reasons why the Bible gives us a list of Noah’s generation’s (lineage) back to Adam and states specifically that Noah was “perfect in his generations”. Not a perfect man, but a man with a perfect lineage through which the promised Christ, who would crush Satan’s head (bring about his ultimate defeat), would be born. The Nephilim are the descendants (offspring) of fallen angels and human women.
There is not a clear answer to the question of how the fallen angels created the Nephilim. It could have happened through normal sexual relations or through genetic (DNA) manipulation. Some believe that angels cannot father children through sexual relationships with human women. However, we can not fully comprehend the powers of angelic beings. We know from Scripture they usually appear as men and are addressed with the pronoun “he”. It is true Jesus said that angels neither marry nor are given in marriage (Matthew 22:30). However, when Jesus said this, He did not necessarily mean the angels were not capable of reproduction with human women, only that it was against the will of God for them to do so.
Angels are immortal spiritual beings who do not need to reproduce. The success of the fallen angels (Watchers) is attested to the fact that God sent the flood to stop their plan.
Nephilim is from the Hebrew “naphal” which means “to fall”, which is also the Hebrew word for premature birth, stillborn or abortion. Their offspring, the Rephaim, is from the Hebrew “rapha” meaning “sick” or “weak” (but can also mean “to heal”). The word is translated as “dead” throughout the Old Testament. So I believe the race was dying out, and getting smaller over time as they continued to mix with humans. The Rephaim are the offspring of Nephilim and humans, or (multi-generationally) Rephaim and Humans. King Og and Goliath in the Bible are examples of Rephaim. Rephaim are giants, although not as massive as the Nephilim who I think were monstrous in size, even as tall as the cedars. The origin of the post-flood giants is hotly debated. I believe that the post-flood giants were the progeny of Ham, Noah’s son. I believe the biblical record of the Watchers and the Nephilim can be directly correlated to the Anunnaki, who were the deities of the ancient Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians and
Babylonians. It is easy to see the Watchers being shown as the original Anunnaki and the
Nephilim being shown as their offspring such as Gilgamesh. Of course, the Anunnaki are the
heroes of the Sumerian legends whereas they are the villains of the Bible. The biblical narrative taken from the Septuagint (the primary bible at the time of Christ) shows that this was the belief of the Jews in the time of Christ. This narrative is immensely superior to the theory created by Zecharia Sitchin, and used as a primary source for the “Ancient Alien Astronaut” movement favored by movies, TV and other modern media.
I have watched many episodes of the History Channel program “Ancient Aliens” and have found
that each time they use the terms “Ancient Alien” or “Ancient Astronaut”, if one replaces that
term with “Fallen Angels”, the biblical narrative fits seamlessly. I believe portions of the technology provided to mankind by these Fallen Watcher Angels included the technology required to build the Megalithic Marvels whose creation dates are between the re-establishment of the Earth (see “Gap Theory” below) and 1,656 BC. I also believe that there is an extreme possibility that some of the labor could have been provided by giants. While the Fallen Watcher Angels would have been the original gods, the Nephilim would have been represented as the sons of the gods. This can be seen in Greek and Roman mythology. Including the son of Poseidon/Neptune, Atlas, after whom Atlantis is named. Atlas is also the namesake of the Atlantic Ocean. Megalithic architecture is often known as “Cyclopean
masonry”. The Cyclops were the sons of Uranus (Sky) and Gaia (Earth). The Titans, known for
their size, were also said to have been the offspring of Uranus and Gaia.
The Gap Theory
The “Gap Theory” postulates that there was an extended period of time between Genesis 1:1 and
Genesis 1:2. Here are the two verses quoted from the King James Bible:
1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
2 “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
The “Gap Theory” is based on the fact that we have no record of God ever creating anything that
was not perfect. Therefore, something must have happened to destroy His original creation
described in Genesis 1:1 as Genesis 1:2 starts off with an earth that is formless and void and
completely covered in darkness. Some theologians translate “the earth was without form” in
Genesis 1:2 to mean “the earth became without form”. The word ‘was’, hayah, can also be
correctly interpreted as ‘became’. The Gap Theory view is more consistent with mainstream science with respect to the age of the earth but most adherents still see the “days” in the Genesis creation story as 24-hour days. One can see the “Gap Theory” documented in bibles such as the Scofield Reference Bible and The Dake Annotated Reference Bible, as well as books like “Earth’s Earliest Ages” by George
H. Pember, and “The Gap Is Not A Theory!” by Jack W. Langford. Here is a “word study”, using the Enhanced Strong’s Lexicon, on Genesis 1:2 that helps support the Gap Theory:
2 “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the

“Was”: 1961 יהֶה ְא , ֶיהָה] ָhayah /haw·yaw/] A primitive root [compare 1933]; 75
occurrences; Authorized Version translates as “was”, “come to pass”, “came”, “has
been”, “were happened”, “become”, “pertained”, and “better for thee”. 1 to be, become,
come to pass, exist, happen, fall out. 1a (Qal). 1a1 ——-. 1a1a to happen, fall out, occur,
take place, come about, come to pass. 1a1b to come about, come to pass. 1a2 to come
into being, become. 1a2a to arise, appear, come. 1a2b to become. 1a2b1 to become.
1a2b2 to become like. 1a2b3 to be instituted, be established. 1a3 to be. 1a3a to exist, be
in existence. 1a3b to abide, remain, continue (with word of place or time). 1a3c to stand,
lie, be in, be at, be situated (with word of locality). 1a3d to accompany, be with. 1b
(Niphal). 1b1 to occur, come to pass, be done, be brought about. 1b2 to be done, be
finished, be gone.
“Form”: 8414 תּהוּ] ֹtohuw /to·hoo/] From an unused root meaning to lie waste; 20
occurrences; Authorized Version translates as “vain” four times, “vanity” four times,
“confusion” three times, “without form” twice, “wilderness” twice, “nought” twice,
“nothing” once, “empty place” once, and “waste” once. 1 formlessness, confusion,
unreality, emptiness. 1a formlessness (of primeval earth). 1a1 nothingness, empty space.
1b that which is empty or unreal (of idols) (fig). 1c wasteland, wilderness (of solitary
places). 1d place of chaos. 1e vanity.
“Void”: 922 בּהוּ] ֹbohuw /bo·hoo/] From an unused root (meaning to be empty); Three
occurrences; Authorized Version translates as “void” twice, and “emptiness” once. 1
emptiness, void, waste.
The theory states that between verses 1 and 2 of Genesis, the world “became” “laid waste to” and
“empty” and “desolate”. God’s works are always perfect. Therefore, something happened
between verses 1 and 2 to ruin the perfect creation that God had made. I believe the event that resulted in the destruction of God’s original creation of the Earth to be the fall of Satan. Satan was God’s most beautiful and most important angel. I believe God put Satan in charge of the Earth. We see this in the Bible in places such as the book of Daniel where the archangel Michael has been placed, by God, in charge of Israel. I do not know what kind of human/humanoid creatures existed on the original Earth, but I do believe there were beings that populated the original perfect Earth. I also believe that when Satan fell, the Earth that was fell with Him. Let’s take a look at a few verses that may support this stance.
23 “I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and
they had no light. 24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills
moved lightly. 25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens
were fled. 26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities
thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.”
(Jeremiah 4:23-26)
This passage from Jeremiah is part of a prophesy of the destruction and captivity of
Jerusalem. However, it seems to speak of a time when a (once) populated, and fruitful
earth was shaken and totally destroyed. The earth was not totally destroyed in the flood of
Noah.
18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the
earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be
inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. (Isaiah 45:18)
This passage indicates that God created the earth perfectly and intended it to be inhabited.
Does this only refer to the detailed creation we have documented in Genesis or does it
also refer the creation with no detail in Genesis 1:1 referred to by the “Gap” theorists?
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut
down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine
heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will
sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend
above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be
brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. 16 They that see thee shall narrowly look
upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble,
that did shake kingdoms; 17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the
cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners? (Isaiah 14:12-17)
This passage is about Satan (Lucifer). It says that he “made the earth to tremble” and that
he “made the world as a wilderness and destroyed the cities thereof”. This could of
course refer to his work as destroyer and deceiver, but it is cited as significant in the Gap
Theory when used in conjunction with Jeremiah 4:23-26 and Genesis 1:1-2.
One side note is “that opened not the house of his prisoners”. This is said to refer to
those captives in “Abraham’s bosom” or “Paradise” referred to by Jesus in Luke 16:22.
Jesus has the “keys to death and hell” (Revelation 1:18). Jesus released the captives kept
by Satan from Heaven by “accusation” (Revelation 12:10). They believed in the
promise, but were kept from going to heaven because the sin debt had not been paid.
Once Jesus died for our sins and descended into Sheol (Abraham’s Bosom) (Ephesians 4:
8-10) he set those captives in Abraham’s Bosom free. Therefore now, when a believer
dies they go directly to be with Jesus in Heaven (2 Corinthians 5:8).
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,
lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine
unto them. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
Here Satan is called the “god of this world”. Many “Gap” theorists believe that Satan
was given charge of the first creation of the Earth as God’s leading Angel. This was part
of the “pride” that caused Satan’s fall and the destruction of the original creation of Earth.
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him,
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in
beauty. 13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy
covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper,
the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy
tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14
Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon
the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones
of fire. 15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till
iniquity was found in thee. 16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled
the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as
profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub,
from the midst of the stones of fire. 17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy
beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee
to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18 Thou hast
defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy
traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour
thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold
thee. 19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou
shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. (Ezekiel 28:12-19)
“Merchandise”: 7404 לּה ָכ ֻר] ְrâkullah /rek·ool·law/] Pass part of 7402; Four
occurrences; Authorized Version translates as “merchandise” twice, and “traffick” twice.

7402 כל ַר] ָrakal /raw·kal/] A primitive root; 17 occurrences; Authorized Version
translates as “merchant” 17 times. 1 to go about (meaning dubious). 1a (Qal) trafficker,
trader (participle) (subst). (Enhanced Strong’s Lexicon)
This passage in Ezekiel 28 is primarily about Satan, and secondarily, the king of Tyrus.
The king of Tyrus had not “been in Eden the garden of God”. However, Satan had
been. Proponents of the “Gap” theory point to verse 16 where it says “By the multitude
of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast
sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will
destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.” Satan here is
accused of “merchandising himself” or gathering support unto himself. The bible says in
Revelation 12:4 that a third of the angels fell with (because of their support of) Satan.
“Gap” theorists say that when Satan was put in charge of the original Earth, that he grew
in pride.
In Job 38: 4-8 God says
4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?
declare, if thou hast understanding. 5
Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou
knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? 6
Whereupon are the foundations thereof
fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; 7
When the morning stars sang together,
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”
The angels, including Satan, rejoiced at God’s creation. Did Satan take pride in being given control over the Earth and began to gather other angels unto him? Did this pride result in Satan being cast out of the “mountain of God” and ultimately being destroyed?
Jesus said in Luke 10:18 “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” Satan is now called
“god of this world” in 2 Corinthians 4:4 and “prince of the power of the air” in Ephesians 2:2.
In Job 1:7 and Job 2:2 he is described as “going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up
and down in it.” In 1 Peter 5:8 we are told “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary
the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” All of these
verses attach Satan to the earth and give him great power here. They seem to lend support to the
“Gap” theory.
The Pre-History Architects
I believe that whatever civilization was on the Earth before the fall of Satan, created Megalithic Marvels as well. They were complicit in the work of Satan in some way, or they would not have been
punished with Him. God is just and righteous. We see ruins like Göbekli Tepe that are dated to
9,500 BC. We see Megalithic architecture such as the pyramids of Giza, and the Sphinx being
recently estimated to be twenty to fourty thousand years old.
All of this aligns with a time of abundance, often called today “Man’s Golden Age”, when gods
(little ‘g’ gods) walked among men. A proud created being announced himself to be equal with
an eternal, not created, God who had Himself created all things for His own pleasure. 1/3 of
God’s angels followed the proud being and fell eternally. God has judged them, but the sentence
has not been fully carried out:
“God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods… I have
said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men,
and fall like one of the princes.” (Psalms 82:1,6-7)
Waiting for them is a “lake of fire” created for these fallen angels, where they will be placed for
eternity. Eternal separation from God and the attributes of God. An eternal existence in eternal
death, which is separation from God, in whom dwells all life.
Satan offered a counterfeit then and it proved worse than worthless. He offers a counterfeit now,
and it will hold the same results. The true God offers a true Golden Age, the Golden Age of God.
Where His saints dwell with Him, and the true God walks and talks with us:
“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with
men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be
with them, and be their God.” (Revelation 21:3)
“And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it;
and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in
their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light
of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
(Revelation 22:3-5)
Final Thoughts
The same fallen angels that were alive at the creation of the Earth are still alive today. If one
does some research, it is easy to see the same undying Fallen Angel activity in the history of
the “new world” and even today.
Seraphim in Isaiah Chapter 6 is the Hebrew word saraph (Strong’s #8314). It is translated other
times in scripture as flying fiery serpent in Isaiah 30:6. It also shows up in Numbers 21:6 as a
fiery serpent. Serpent mentioned in Genesis 3:14 is nachash (Strong’s 5175), but I can’t help but
think there is a connection between the angelic beings that were thrown from heaven (maybe
cherubim and seraphim) and these flying fiery serpents we see depicted in so many cultures.
I think Seraphim are a class of angels. I am beginning to believe it possible that all of the
Seraphim are “reptilian” in appearance. Satan is the “nachash” the old serpent. The South
American Inca and Aztec refer to a “Plumed” (or “feathered”) serpent that taught evil among
them after first being a boon to their society and being worshipped as a god. The Anasazi
Indians of the Southwest (who disappeared – and maybe became – the cliff dwelling Hopi and
other tribes of the 4 corners area) spoke of a Plumed Serpent as well who did good at first and
them taught sorcery and cannibalism. This serpent brought giants upon the tribe who ate them
and were only stopped by a great flood.
Serpents with wings (or feathers) are spoken of in cultures all over the world. I think God creates
everything perfect, so I believe in the “Gap Theory” that says there was a long time between
Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. I believe the fall of Satan, the god of this world, happened during
that time and the entire earth was judged with all life destroyed (see Jeremiah). I also think it
possible that the “age of the dinosaurs” (reptiles) could have been a part of Satan’s kingdom
when the reptiles were unmatched on the planet. I find it interesting that we see Cherubim with 4
faces and not one of them reptile. I think it possible that the reptile kingdom fell with Satan and
is part of creation groaning to be released from the curse. I am not “dead sure” on any of this, but
I think about it a lot. It fits biblically and that means a lot to me.
I think the remaining Canaanite Nephilim, came to the new world in the Great Lakes area and the
Eastern US. Timothy Alberino has a YouTube documentary on Sardinia which has reports of
many giant skeletons and giant structures. In this report he gives good reason to believe that the
remaining giants of Canaan were pushed out of the Holy Land and settled in Sardinia. He reports
on a column found, that is Canaanite in origin but was found on an island close to Sardinia, that
reported they were being pushed out of their homes by “Joshua the Usurper”. I think some recent
archeology supports the idea of Canaanite tribes in the Americas. Thor Heyerdahl proved that the
reed (papyrus) boats of the time of the diaspora could cross the ocean to the Americas. There is
also the “Mounds” that stretch from the Great Lakes down through the Ohio Valley that were
documented by newspapers of the time to contain the remains of giants.
I have seen time and time again where the Bible has been proven correct when science
and archeology, up to that time, had proclaimed what was said in scripture to be impossible. Then
they found the evidence proving the veracity of the Biblical narrative. Examples include King
David, Jericho, the Blessings and Curses just found recently on Mount Ebal, and many others.
