This incredible precision crafted Olmec statue is known as the “Lord of the Limes,” and is also referred to as the “Las Limas Monument 1” figurine.

It stands 22 inches tall and was discovered in 1965 near Veracruz, Mexico.

Guesstimated to date from approximately 1000 BC, it was crafted from serpentine “Greenstone.”

Sitting with legs crossed, the figurines gazes upward while holding a limp werejaguar infant.

The werejaguar motif was an Olmec supernatural entity often depicted with a downturned mouth, almond eyes & pleated ears.

This amazing ancient artifact is currently on display at the Xalapa Museum of Anthropology in Veracruz, Mexico
